History

The company was founded in 2000. The establishment of the company was set up by the repurchase of production assets of part of the Kovona Karviná company.

Fundamental business activities at the very beginning were the production of light shelf-racks, the production of metal interior components and surfacing by powdered spraying materials. In this context, it is useful to mention our cooperation in the production of car wheel disks for the Škoda Auto company.

Due to maintaining the continuity of the one-hundred year old development of metal processing craftsmanship, our company had the unique opportunity to establish cooperation with globally orientated distribution partners. Within the first year of company existence, negotiations started with the IKEA Corporation concerning serial mass production of office furniture. The result was a long-term business contract of such increased significance that it sparked the energetic growth of our company for years to come.

Due to the permanent increase in the volume of orders, at the turn of 2003 and 2004 a new production plant in Český Těšín was built. During 2004, highly automated technology was commissioned in this facility for serial mass production of folding chairs with an annual capacity of 3 million pieces.

In 2006, the company took an important step in the expansion of its production-technological capabilities and became co-owner, then in 2007 it became the sole owner of the Kovona Karviná, a.s.company. This strategic acquisition was implemented with the aim of expanding production capabilities by the production of heavier metal closed and open profiles, cutting of materials in coils and other activities related to the service activity during the processing of metallurgical materials.

At the beginning of 2007 the company terminated the stage of the implementation of modern technologies for production, processing and finalizing of “long” products. Reconstructed painting line was commissioned in the production plant in Karvina which now make it possible to perform the surface treatment of parts with dimensions of up to 6 x 0.5 x 2 m. In combination with the laser cutting machine this represents the self-contained processing and final treatment of products with greater dimensions.

The permanently increasing interest of clients in sub-supplies in the area of mass series metal production and the long-term plan of investment into new technologies led the company to decide in favour of the expansion of the existing production premises in Český Těšín, by about 8000 m2. The construction work commenced in May 2007 with an implementation period of 6 months.

Throughout our history we have received a series of appraisals, some of the most important are within the “Top 100 Czech firms” in the category “Best investor MPSV” in 2005, 3rd position in the “Exporter of the Year” competition in 2004 and “Best IKEA supplier” in 2002.
